Tiktok Removes Nearly 25 Millions Videos In Pakistan

TikTok removed 24.95 million videos in Pakistan during the first quarter of 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines. According to the platform’s latest Enforcement Report, 99.4% of these videos were removed proactively, and 95.8% were taken down within 24 hours. This places Pakistan among the top countries in terms of content moderation volume.

Globally, TikTok removed 211 million videos, with 184 million flagged through automated systems. The most common violations included misinformation (45.5%), mature content (30.1%), privacy breaches, and the growing trend of AI-edited or manipulated media. The company says these efforts reflect its commitment to maintaining a safe and transparent platform.

The report comes at a sensitive time, following the tragic killing of Pakistani influencer Sana Yousuf, which has reignited national conversations about digital safety, online harassment, and platform accountability. While TikTok has not directly linked the removals to the incident, the timing underscores the urgency of improving protections for users, particularly in vulnerable communities.
